Susan McLeary (of PassionflowerMade) designs jewelry, but not just any jewelry—the artist designs living jewelry! Using succulents that she handpicks from a small, family-owned greenhouse, McLeary crafts intricate headpieces and biotic accessories. For 2-4 weeks, the plant artist’s whimsical works can be worn before they begin to grow off their base. At this point, wearers can gently remove the succulents, pot them, and keep them as a memento (especially if they wore the piece for a special occasion). Once the plant has found its new home, the jewelry base can be worn on its own so nothing goes to waste.
